Schedule Up Front.
With the appropriate project management software you can spend a bit of time up front setting schedules, budgets, and notifications for yourself and others to ensure everyone’s on track. If something shifts in the schedule, simply adjust and those down the chain will be alerted to the schedule adjustment. I’m sure at this point you’re thinking, “my subs don’t use a computer for anything but invoicing!” You may be right, but what if that reminder can come as a text message to their phone, or an email—or both? Communication is Key.
At velocity, some GC’s maintain several subcontractors at the construction site at one time, so making and receiving calls from 3rd parties can be challenging—even if it’s the customer!
